For Quantum Global Data Center by Gul Ahmed Energy Limited

About the Company:
Quantum Global Data Center (QGDC), a subsidiary of Gul Ahmed Energy Group, is developing a Tier III commercial data center in Karachi, designed in accordance with concurrent maintainability principles. Built on a 30-acre site and backed by renewable energy integration and a fully operational 136 MW captive power plant, the facility delivers reliable off-grid power for mission-critical operations. With advanced IT/OT infrastructure, robust cybersecurity, and internationally aligned security and compliance frameworks, QGDC serves hyperscale, enterprise, telecom, and cloud customers-strengthening Pakistan’s digital sovereignty and supporting the country’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the critical power system for QGDC Phase 1, from the 11 kV intake at the captive power plant through transformers, MV/LV switchgear, UPS, battery systems, and generators, in a 2N architecture aligned with Uptime and TIA-942-C standards.
Own electrical design coordination and technical review of procurement, setting planning criteria, distribution concepts, and equipment selection guidance for the project.
Oversee construction quality of electrical installations, conduct site observations, and provide technical direction to contractors, junior engineers, and technicians.
Perform or review load calculations, voltage-drop studies, and equipment sizing, and support short-circuit, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
Lead FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing (IST) to prove concurrent maintainability, and drive punch-list development and project turnover.
Coordinate electrical requirements and sequencing with HVAC, mechanical, and other trades, including motor controls, VFDs, and BMS interfaces.
Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, flag risks early, and communicate recommendations clearly to consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Standardize site electrical practices, checklists, and quality-control processes for the Planning & Implementation team.
Assist with material take-offs (MTOs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical scope.

Key Requirements:
Education: B.E. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 10 years, including 5 years on mission-critical power, preferably in a Tier III or Rated-3 data center facility.

Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, protection and distribution systems, power quality, and battery technologies (VRLA/Li-ion).
Understanding of Uptime, TIA-942, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 855 standards and applicable electrical codes.
Proficiency in single-line diagram and electrical design tools (AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, PSSE), load calculation and power system study tools, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and project documentation and reporting systems.
