🚧 Job Opening – Material Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Material Engineer to join our construction project at Lawa Site.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise construction material testing and quality control activities at site.
supervise concrete batching plant, including production control, batching accuracy and quality monitoring.
Prepare, review and implement concrete mix designs for various grades and applications.
Conduct and monitor concrete tests including slump, temperature, cube/compressive strength and other relevant tests.
Review and verify material test reports, laboratory results and manufacturers’ certificates.
Inspect and approve incoming construction materials in accordance with project specifications.
Supervise testing of road construction materials, including soil, subgrade, sub-base, aggregate and asphalt-related materials.
Ensure compliance with applicable ASTM, AASHTO, BS and project specifications/quality standards.
Maintain proper records of material approvals, laboratory tests, calibration certificates and quality documentation.
Coordinate with Consultant, QA/QC team, site engineers, laboratory staff and batching plant personnel.
Identify material-related quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
B.Sc./B.E. in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Material Engineer / Materials & QA/QC Engineer on major construction projects.
Hands-on experience with concrete batching plants is mandatory.
Strong practical experience in concrete mix design, trial mixes and concrete quality control.
Good knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, BS and other relevant construction material standards.
Strong experience in road material testing, including soil, aggregate, sub-base/base-course and asphalt materials.
Practical knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment.
Ability to interpret specifications, test results and material test reports.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently at a remote project site.
Preferred Skills
Experience in hospital/infrastructure/building projects.
Experience dealing directly with Consultants and Clients for material approvals.
Knowledge of QA/QC documentation, ITPs, MIRs and material submittals.
Good command of MS Office and technical reporting.
