Location: Karachi
BOL Network is looking for a detail-oriented and news-driven Sub-Editor for its English Website Department. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of English, an eye for sharp headlines, and a genuine curiosity about current affairs.
We are looking for someone who can go beyond editing copy – someone who can identify interesting angles, turn headlines into interactive and engaging news stories, pursue developing stories, and dig deeper into important issues.
Key Responsibilities
Review and edit stories for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and structure before publication.
Write clear, accurate, and compelling headlines.
Develop engaging news stories from headlines and breaking developments.
Trim, format, and optimize copy according to platform requirements
.Β Fact-check names, dates, figures, facts, and quotes.
Follow ongoing news trends and international developments to identify relevant stories and angles.
Proactively pursue stories and investigate important issues of public interest.
* Ensure content follows editorial guidelines and policies.
* Coordinate with reporters and Senior Sub-Editors to maintain a smooth editorial workflow.
Requirements
Bachelorβs degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Strong command of English language and grammar.
Excellent editing, proofreading, and attention-to-detail skills.
Strong interest in national and international news and current affairs.
